When trying to delete build definition in TFS you get following error: "Build definition \repo\BuildDefName cannot be deleted because builds still exist for this definition. Delete all completed builds for this definition and try again" Here is how you fix it.
TF215032 where build definition can not be deleted is annoying error. And it looks something like below:

First go to Build Explorer of the specific build that you want to delete by right click on build defifnition and choose view

In order to fix this error set the Date filter in Build Explorer to .

Unfortunately by default it is set to Today and once changed the date filter to you will see builds associated with the build definition that you are trying to delete.

ditto. One usually finds that filters are set to to NOT filter as the default. That one had my pulling my hair out for days.
